Gunners – gunned down!!

It was probably the best sight of the free flowing football. The likes of Cole, Robben, Henry, Lampard, Cech and Ljunberg were at their best. The average movement of the players on the field was recorded at 12.1 miles per player. Was it speed which mattered in this match? I guess it certainly was.

Arsenal, known to play the most attacking football then any other club in the premeireship got to know what Speed is all about from their local rivals Chelsea. Chelsea have stretched their unbeaten run against Arsenal to 6 games which is a proud feeling for any Chelsea Fan.

The match started with what it looked liked a perfect scrambled egg recipe. Players throwing themselves onto the ball. Yellow cards were displayed in abundance, The likes of Viera and Reyes were certainly missed by the Arsenal camp which took the field against all strong Chelsea.

Arsenal could have led the game if not for the far post which deviated the shot by Theiry Henry in the early minutes of the game. Robben certainly showed that he has the best finishing abilities in the world football. And then it was the perfect timing of Cole, which certainly rammed any hopes of challenging the title for Arsenal.

Jose Mourinho was ecstatic as ever when he punched his fist in the air and the embarrassed look on the face of Arsene Wenger and their Jackman Sir Alex Ferguson. So, is Arsenal out of the title race contention. I certainly think so. Their method of playing attacking game is certainly evident in other clubs like Bolton and Tottenham, which lead Arsenal in the table.

So the gunners can aptly say that they were “gunned down” by the “Big Blues”.
