Rang Diya Basanti Ne !!
Now, I certainly feel that this movie came very close to attaining perfection in all the Dept. Acting, Music, Comedy, Screenplay, Art Direction, Dialouges, etc etc... but i think it could have done a bit better in Casting and Scripting (in the second half). But well the major thing which was somehow unacceptable to me was the role aamir khan played (Daljeet A.K.A DJ) and there were other casting gliches too.
Hey, I am not taking anything from the wonderful perfomance by Aamir Khan. I think he's genius and superb, and I also no that no one from the current crop of the actors could have played the role better than Aamir khan himself. He carried out a role of a 27-29 year old guy perfectly, but the camera can not hide the 40+ face perfectly, how i wish it did!
I seriously feel that there could have been someone who would have suited the role more perfectly. I guess it is about time, that our directors of people who handle the casting authority, should go for a yatra and watch the wonderful talent playing it's part on the stage and drama's.
I mean we are a nation of billion people and we do have actors hiding out there. I really do sympathise with all those wonderful actor who just can fulfill their dream of owning a Merc. an extra. where are these talent agencies who should have a huge databank of prospective actors and actresses?
i mean, if we have actors from different age group and sizes and everything, there is so much more we can do with the characters. We've seen so many hollywood movies with ugly people playing the part of the lead actor. Like Chris Farley, Seth Green, etc etc. Characters like these gives you so much more freedom to explore the subject of the movie in a different level. Can you think of American pie without "the Sherminator" or "without a paddle" for "Danny".
Anyways, this is a sunject I can get totally carried away with. so for all the people who can or wish debate please send me Q's.
